Destination Geek: Holiday Edition

This past weekend, my wife and I took a ride out to the Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Boylston, Massachusetts to view their holiday light display.  The Garden, normally a good place to go to view and learn about various species of plants and trees, has set up an impressive light display among their gardens that they are calling Winter Reimagined.  The display is open from now until January 3rd, and it is a good way for a family to spend an evening, or a romantic evening for a couple as well.  I was very impressed with the lights featured at the Garden, which created a sense of whimsy that augmented the charm of the Botanical Garden.

Here are some of my favorite highlights from the display:

Inside the Visitor’s Center, there are an assortment of Christmas trees on display, as well as a large, fabricated igloo that you can enter and play around in:

The Tower Hill Botanical Garden is a fun place to visit as a family year round, but seeing the Garden lit up for the holidays is something special that will get even the most curmudgeonly Scrooge into the holiday spirit.

Tickets for the Tower Hill Botanical Garden Winter Reimagined light display are $15 for adults, $5 for kids 6 to 18 years old, $10 for seniors, and free for kids 5 years old and under as well as members of the Garden.
